Paestum Column Console

The Paestum Console takes its form from classical architecture: two fluted columns carrying a long stone slab, as a temple's columns carry its beam.

Each column is cut from solid Calacatta Oro marble. Sixteen flutes are carved by hand into the shaft and end in rounded stops just above a turned base and below a ringed collar.

A square cap sits on each column and receives the top. The top's edge is molded in two steps, a rounded nosing over a narrower band, so it reads like the cornice of a building.

Calacatta Oro is a warm white marble veined in gold and soft gray. Because the stone is natural, the veining differs from piece to piece, and no two consoles are the same.

The pieces are delivered separately and assembled in place by our white-glove team.

Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and blot spills straight away, especially wine, citrus and coffee. Use coasters under glasses and avoid placing hot items directly on the stone. Dust the fluting with a soft brush, and reseal once a year.
