Bassano Console

The Bassano Console sets a thick oak top on two turned pedestals shaped like tall bottles: a full rounded body below, a narrow waist, and a flared neck that widens to meet the top.

Each pedestal is turned on the lathe from laminated solid white oak. The grain runs vertically through the body and spreads across the flare.

At the waist of each pedestal sits a band of solid brass, brushed and lacquered. It is fitted by hand into a turned groove so it sits flush with the wood.

The top is solid white oak, two inches thick, with radiused corners and a fully rounded edge that is soft to the hand.

Concealed steel plates bolt the pedestals to the top, so the piece stands firm with no visible fixings.

Dust the oak with a dry cloth, following the grain, and use coasters and mats on the top. Wipe the brass bands with a soft, dry cloth only; no polish is needed. Keep the piece out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources.
