The frame is the whole idea: one length of timber bent through two right-angle curves so that the side, the floor rail and the opposite side are a single continuous piece. There is no leg, no joint at the corner, and nothing to interrupt the line.

Weaving the drawer fronts rather than veneering them does two things. It breaks up what would otherwise be a long blank band across the front, and it introduces a texture that catches raking light — which is why the piece looks different in the morning than it does at night.

Each woven panel sits inside a brass frame, inlaid so that the brass finishes flush with the timber rather than sitting proud of it. The cup pulls are cast rather than pressed, and they are the only thing on the piece that projects.

The stone is cut from natural block; veining will differ from the piece shown.

Dust the timber and the woven fronts with a soft dry cloth or a vacuum brush — the weave holds dust in its texture. Blot spills on the stone at once, as it is porous and acidic liquids will etch it. Keep out of direct sun, which lightens both the timber and the weave unevenly.
