Burano Sideboard

The sideboard companion to the Burano Scalloped Bookcase, built in the same wood, on the same recessed plinth, and topped in the same white marble that lines the bookcase shelves.

The case is wrapped in a deep frame on all sides, so the four doors sit set back within it and the piece reads as one solid volume. The doors are left plain, with the grain run vertically, so nothing competes with the stone above or the hardware at their center.

The pulls are the Burano signature: each one carved from wood in a gentle wave and set in pairs, so the two halves of every cupboard meet in a rippled line.

The marble top runs the full length of the case in a single slab. Veining varies from block to block; the piece shown is representative, and yours will differ.

Blot spills on the marble at once, and use coasters and a tray under anything wet; acidic liquids will mark it. Dust the wood and pulls with a soft dry cloth, following the grain. Keep the sideboard out of direct sun, which changes the tone of the wood over time.
