The arms and back are one piece. Rather than building a back and adding arms to it, the roll is upholstered as a single continuous form that starts at one arm, sweeps around and finishes at the other — which is why the silhouette reads as one gesture from every angle, including from behind.

Mohair is the reason it looks the way it does. The pile is dense and slightly irregular, so the surface shifts between light and dark as you move around it, and the welted seams catch that shift rather than hiding it. Every panel is cut so the pile runs the same direction; done carelessly, one reversed panel reads as a different colour.

The base is a recessed brass ring rather than a visible foot. From a standing height the chair appears to sit directly on the floor, and the metal only shows as a line of warmth underneath.

It turns a full circle and returns to centre.

Vacuum with a soft brush attachment, following the pile rather than against it. Mohair crushes and recovers — lift flattened pile with a soft brush or a light steam, and do not rub. Blot spills immediately. Keep out of direct sun, which fades a warm tone faster than a neutral one.
