DETAILS

The whole sofa reads as one rectangular volume — no scroll, no taper, nothing to soften the geometry. A tuxedo form has nowhere to hide a line: arms and back meet level, so any deviation shows immediately along the full length.

The plinth is set back from the upholstery above, which lifts the mass just clear of the floor and draws a dark line under the whole length. Its edge has to be true, or the shadow beneath the sofa runs uneven.

The seat is one uninterrupted bench, tight-upholstered, with no cushion divisions across the sitting surface. Because there are no cushions to rotate, wear shows where people sit rather than being redistributed — worth varying where the piece is used.
